# Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Loadout ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Loadout mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using Loadout you agree to this Policy.

## Who this is for

Loadout is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact ariongoods@gmail.com and we will delete it.

## Information we collect

Information you provide:
- Account details: email address and password (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text).
- Profile: handle, display name, bio, avatar image, card background image, and favorite game.
- Content you create: posts, comments, reactions, direct messages, completed-games entries, community memberships, and voice-room participation.
- Self-reported stats: gaming statistics you enter manually (clearly labeled as self-reported).

Information from connected gaming and creator accounts (only when you choose to connect them):
- Steam, Riot, and Xbox: a unique account identifier and public gameplay statistics used to build your verified card.
- Twitch and YouTube: channel identifiers and public live/upload status used for creator features. We never download or rehost your videos; we link to and embed them only.
- PlayStation (PSN) is never automatically accessed or scraped. Any PSN stats are self-reported by you and clearly labeled as unverified.

Information collected automatically:
- Basic device and usage information needed to operate the app (for example, app version and error diagnostics).
- Presence and session activity used to power feeds, recaps, and "live now" features, subject to your privacy settings.

## How we use information

- To create and operate your account and gamer card.
- To provide social features: feed, sessions, friends, direct messages, communities, and invite-only voice rooms.
- To sync verified stats from connected platforms and compute card rarity.
- To generate cover art for completed games (we send the game title you type to our AI provider to identify the game; we then fetch public cover art).
- To maintain safety, enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines, and respond to reports.
- To fix bugs, secure the Service, and comply with law.

We do not sell your personal information.

## How content visibility works

Privacy is enforced on our servers, not just in the app. If you set your profile to private, only accepted friends can see your stats, posts, and presence. Voice rooms are invite-only and access is enforced server-side. Direct messages are visible only to participants.

## Service providers we share with

We share limited information with vendors that operate the Service on our behalf:
- Supabase — backend, database, authentication, and file storage.
- LiveKit — real-time audio for voice rooms.
- Anthropic — AI used to identify games and rephrase fetched facts for content features. AI does not invent news; flagged AI output is held for review and never posted automatically.
- Steam, Riot, Xbox gateway, Twitch, YouTube, and IGDB — to retrieve the gaming and creator data and cover art described above.

These providers process information under their own terms and only as needed to provide their service to us.

## Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Card tab → account settings). Deleting your account removes your profile and associated content from our active systems; some records may persist in backups for a limited period or where required by law.

## Your choices and rights

- Access, update, or delete your profile information in the app.
- Connect or disconnect gaming/creator accounts at any time.
- Make your profile private.
- Delete your account in the app.
- Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these, contact ariongoods@gmail.com.

## Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. Connected-platform tokens are stored securely and are accessible only to the account owner's server-side operations. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

## International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.

## Changes

We may update this Policy. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
